Child's Play (International) Ltd
Child’s Play is an independent publisher, specialising in whole child development, focused play, life skills and values.
Child’s Play is more than a publishing programme, it is a philosophy. A child’s early years are more important than any other. This is when children learn most about the world around them and the language they need to survive and grow. Child’s Play is dedicated to children everywhere and always puts the child first. Each product is developed around the child in order to create the right material for this all important time.
Child’s Play aims to be multi-cultural, eco-friendly, non-sexist, non-sectarian and non-political. It encourages children to develop an understanding of citizenship, the world we want to live in, quality of life and democracy.
Since the company was founded in 1972, our programme of books, games, Storysacks® and audio-visual material has enjoyed widespread international recognition with Child’s Play companies in Australia and the USA, and distributors in many other countries. We are truly international and multicultural.
Our Products and Services
Our programme consists of books, games, toys, and associated materials, chosen and interwoven to provide a range of approaches to different learning objectives. Developing products to complement our books is important at Child’s Play because of the value such commodities bring to the reading and sharing experience. Child’s Play provide children, parents and teachers with opportunities to learn through play, participate in motivational activities and extend interactive communication - developing the whole person through the senses, the intellect and the imagination.
Child’s Play produces children’s fiction in which vocabulary is unrestricted, but structures are natural and simple. Information books provide real challenge and visual stimulation for enquiring minds, and numeracy resources are highly differentiated and therefore suitable for the family or mixed ability classroom. Interactive books are designed to be purposeful and educational, not merely promotional gimmicks.
