Hilda King Educational

Hilda King launched her Learning Phonics audio kits in the mid eighties whilst living in Australia. On returning to the UK in the late eighties, she broadened the base of Hilda King Educational with the launch of a range of photocopiable resources. These have been supplemented with the addition of educational games. The resources have been written by experienced teachers dedicated primarily in the pursuit of improving literacy and numeracy.

Our products and services

Hilda King's products, whilst aimed at, SEN are also suitable for mainstream education. The products cover English, Basic Maths, French, History and Geography and span Nursery, Early Years up to an of age 14 years. As, in the main, the graphics of most of the publications are age indeterminate, some of the photocopiable resources are suitable for older children and adults with reading, spelling and writing difficulties.

The Practise Punctuation range (Books 0,1 and 2) have proved to be the best selling range. The phonic based series of Crosswords and Word Searches have also been hugely popular. Both series cover the same sound and may be used in conjunction with the Learning Phonics kits or as a stand alone resource. Word Virus (homonyms and homophones) has also proved to be a very successful series. French is Fun is one of the few basic French photocopiable products on the market.

	Practise Punctuation There are three books in this series. Book 0 - Key Stage 1, Book 1 - Key Stage 2 and Book2 Key Stage 2/3 all of which are photocopiable. Book 0 covers capital letters, full stops, question marks, exclamation marks and commas. Book 1 deals with full stops, question marks, commas, exclamation marks and apostrophes of possession and omission. Finally Book 2 embraces direct and indirect speech, colons, semi-colons, paragraphs and letter writing. The exercises are clearly presented to facilitate understanding the principles involved.
	French is Fun The three photocopiable books in this series and are aimed at encouraging the learning of basic French. The themes follow the same format: presentation, practise and revision. The themes covered are: Book 1 - colours, the body, domestic animals and farm animals. Book 2 - summer clothes, winter clothes, the time, the days of the week and the months of the year. Book 3 - all aspects of food.
	Word Virus This popular series of four photocopiable books contains easily confused words, homonyms and homophones. e.g. there, their, they're; rose and rows; which and witch. The books have revision pages and increase in complexity up to Book 3.
	Parts of Speech Starting with nouns at Key Stage 1 this photocopiable book progresses to Key Stage 2 and covers nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. There are many activities reinforcing parts of speech and tenses of verbs.
