The Primary School Homework Book Co Ltd

The Primary School Homework Book Co Ltd

We publish affordable homework books, called Workabooks, which are specifically designed for primary school children.

Workabooks offer a wealth of inspiring and stimulating homework in literacy and numeracy for each year from 2 to 6. The content has very clear links with the Primary National Strategy.

Workabooks help to ease the problem of preparing and assigning homework, so saving time and money for the teachers and the school.

Workabooks enable head teachers to deliver, to parents and school governors, a consistent and sustained standard of homework across the school.

Our Products and Services

Workabooks are much more than revision books!

Workabooks make it easy for teachers, children, parents and carers by integrating everything for homework, in one subject, into a single book.

Workabooks are bought and issued by schools. Each child may have their own literacy and numeracy Workabook to keep and complete.

Workabooks provide a structured framework for homework throughout the year. Whether it’s done at home, in an after-school or homework club, alone or with help, Workabook homework is always engaging, always relevant.

Each week, teachers can select which Workabook tasks to set as homework. There are three types of tasks:
Learning Exercises: manageable, bite-sized chunks of learning.

Practice Exercises: these consolidate class work and reinforce the learning facts.

Thinking Tasks: these apply the learning to everyday life.

Most children should be able to complete one of each of these tasks every week within the homework times suggested by the DfES.

Highlights include:

For schools:
After purchasing Workabooks, these free resources are available for download: Teacher Notes, which show how the Workabook exercises and tasks map onto the Frameworks; Answers to the Practice Exercises; guidance Notes for Parents and Carers in ten common community languages; PowerPoint presentation on homework and Workabooks

For children:
Workabooks are designed to encourage children and reward their effort and achievement. Each Workabook in the range features a character that children can aspire to: Bright Spark, Top Banana, Cool Cat, Whizz Kid and Clever Clogs send out the message that it’s cool to try, cool to be clever, cool to achieve

Other Products include:

Key Stage 1: my second numeracy workabook ...tell me more.
Key Stage 2: my third literacy workabook ...tell me more.
